A bewitchingly dark potion, this blend unfolds with a symphony of rich, spicy cardamom and black pepper, seamlessly transitioning through notes of cloves, frankincense, myrrh, cedar, and a subtle touch of oakmoss.
Deep, dark, and spicy tones intricately weave together to paint a vivid tapestry of earth and spice against a captivating cardamom background. This composition is a reincarnation of our original Black Cat fragrance, first introduced in 2010.
Reformulation note (5/2024): The artist has replaced the partially synthetic frankincense and myrrh in the incense accord with an entirely botanical frankincense and myrrh. This small adjustment is virtually undetectable, but adds slightly more depth to the overall composition of the incense.
I collect black cat themed perfumes, and not only has this become the crowning jewel of my collection, this is now one of my all-time favorites. It’s dark, dreamy, and beautiful. It’s lovely and comforting, even now in the springtime, but I cannot wait to wear this in the fall.
The cardamom and clove are heavy, deep, and make up most of the body of this fragrance on me. Incense wafts in the background, balancing the spices exceptionally well. Like all Amorphous perfumes I have tried so far, it is exactly as described, but far more than you could anticipate! There is something silky, almost fuzzy, hanging over everything, the glossy fur of a sleek, beautiful cat, in the best possible way.
This is a true witch’s familiar, soft, jet black fur holding onto tinges of incense smoke, traipsing through the briars and brambles over soft earth, shining, intelligent eyes faithfully watching out through the darkened wood. The familiar, the grimalkin, the devoted friend.
I know I am smelling years of hard work for a perfected craft such as this, but all my heart can say when I wear these is, “pure magic”. Thank you for this beautiful work of art.
It was not what I expected
Black Cat Perfume Oil
I was nervous to try this scent without smelling it in person but WOW I adore the earthy spice of it! And the cedar and oak moss is just enough of a whisper to add that woodsy vibe without overpowering all the other notes. I feel dangerous and cuddly when wearing it, so yes it’s a fantastic balance!
Smells a lot like the Midnight Mass scent but with more cinnamon.
