Closed For Black Friday

Amorphous Perfume does not participate in Black Friday. We decline to take part in the rush of extreme consumerism that harms the environment, strains workers, and encourages a culture of overconsumption. The day generates staggering amounts of pollution, waste, and emissions, and it relies on labor systems that are often exploitative and unsustainable.

Black Friday also follows the National Day of Mourning, a day that acknowledges the genocide of Native peoples and the theft of Native lands. Our founder has stood in solidarity with the National Day of Mourning for the past twenty-five years. For us, stepping away from Black Friday by closing for the day is part of honoring that commitment and refusing to contribute to the frantic energy that defines the day.

As a small, independent perfume studio, participating in Black Friday is neither sustainable nor aligned with our values. Fine fragrance created with rare or costly materials cannot be treated like fast beauty or mass-produced goods. Small batch perfumery cannot compete with big box retail practices without compromising integrity. We will never sacrifice the quality or intention of our work for a temporary surge in sales.
